Mornings Made Sweeter with Sweet Coast

Mornings Made Sweeter with Sweet Coast

Simply put, I am a lover of cafes. Whether I am visiting a new place or it is somewhere that I live I try to build up my “café library” of all of the places that I like to go. While this is the first time that I am writing down what makes a good café in my eyes, I have realized that there has always been this secret criterion that lives in my mind. The obvious factor to some might be the quality of food or drinks, but to me what is most important is the atmosphere. When I first moved to Yerevan, Armenia I was pleasantly surprised by all of the lovely cafes scattered throughout the city. There are so many in fact that I have yet to go to them all, however, I keep returning back to my favorites.

39/12 75 Mesrop Mashtots Ave, Yerevan 0009, Armenia

Hours: 9am-12am everyday

Atmosphere

I could spend breakfast, lunch and dinner in this place. It is so beautiful and all of my senses are always captivated. With high ceilings and polished cement walls I feel like I am dining in a designer’s dream house. Every detail is intentional, from the napkin holders to the light fixtures in the bathroom. Every time I am here I find myself looking around the café for inspiration for my own home.

Food and Drinks

The food is innovative yet simple in the best way possible. I always leave feeling refreshed and excited for the next part of my day. One of my favorite espresso drinks here is freshly squeezed orange juice, brown sugar syrup and a shot of espresso poured on top. The flavor is unexpected but so delicious. For breakfast I always opt for their acai bowl which comes with lots of fresh fruit and a croissant on the side. For lunch I typically go for one of their bowls which leaves me satisfied and energized. They also have the most tempting desserts you have ever seen. After all, it isn't called Sweet Coast for nothing!

Service

Lastly, the service is also another key component of every café. As an American I am used to an overly eager customer service environment; Armenia however is not like that. It is a bit more relaxed and you only interact with your server on a very limited basis. Every time I have come to Sweet Coast, I find their waitstaff to be polite and respectful. Every server is very attentive and can speak multiple languages including English.

With a beautiful space, delicious food, and friendly staff Sweet Coast always delights.
